visual storyteller

It's all about story. After telling stories as a character animator on award winning visual effects films and commercials for over a decade, Kim continues to create visual narratives through her photography, design and occasional video work.

A Toronto native, Kim came to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1994 to work as an animator at George Lucas' Industrial Light and Magic until 2005. More recently as a team member at The Hivery, a creative and collaborative coworking space supporting women, she worked as a Visual Content Producer on marketing and creative projects using her photography, video and design skills. She is proud to contribute her photography to the Sprouts Chef Training program, which helps underserved youth find independence through training and employment in restaurants with chefs. She is also a contributor to the collaborative photography blog Viewfinders where you can read (and see) her thoughts on image-making. She was proud to work with award-winning photographer Leslie Sophia Lindell as photo assistant on two cookbooks for Stone Edge Farm Winery.

Her current photography projects encompass her love of natural light, food, and personal branding portraits of makers and creative entrepreneurs with their work.

Kim lives in Marin County with her husband and daughter and you can often find them on the beach with their dog #tobythemoseydoodle.

"Kim is an incredible photographer who knows how to showcase and tell (and show) the soul story of my business."
— Erin Parsley, Professional Dancer and Embodiment Coach
